Central, a mixed-use development at Clarke Quay, comprises an office tower, retail podium and SOHO (Small Office, Home Office) apartments. At the vehicular entry to the office tower, a water sculpture made of glass and stone forms an illuminated signage with a white water cascade that slopes towards the office entrance. Australian grass trees, Xanthorrhoea preissi and horsetail reeds, Equisetum sp. lend an abstract and distinctive look to this welcome gesture. The poolside deck on the podium roof is conceived as a minimalist roofscape with a geometric array of Jacuzzis, water features and a lap pool. Set amid these amenities are polygonal custom-built planters which hold a singular flowering specie for dramatic effect. Long, linear benches line the sides of the planters, creating a sleek modern outlook for the landscape.
