The proposed A&A works to Shaw House and Shaw Centre is set to revamp the podium levels of both the developments to enliven the spaces from the basement up to the sky garden. Changes in-store for the mall include the planning of new basement retail, designing a main events plaza, addition of food lofts, refurbishment to the cinema theatres, façade upgrade and the creation of a skygarden F&B in their existing lush gardens with a dazzling view down Orchard Road.
Key to the proposal is the improvement of the linkages between Shaw House and Shaw Centre. Besides mitigating varied levels of each connecting floor, a new route is being planned to complete a circuit connection into the Claymore end of Shaw Centre to improve the circulation flow. Food courts and F&B clusters located at upper levels that are easily accessible from the street and the main cinema atrium are a destination point to increase visitor traffic into the shopping mall.
A single façade concept enveloping both developments will strengthen the association between the two buildings as an integrated mall to complete the overall image of the complex.
